Bob, 85, died January 20 at Mercy Medical Center. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at Brooks South Town Chapel, 7601 Fleur Drive. His funeral will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, also at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Robert Lavern Burt, son of Vivian and Frances (Brandon) Burt, was born April 19, 1926 in Des Moines. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School, and served his country in the U. S. Army during WWII. Bob worked for the Des Moines Union Railroad. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and working on cars.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn; two brothers and one sister.

Those left to remember Bob include his sons: Greg (Janie), Steve (Susan) and Doug (Kay); five grandchildren: Michael, David, Josh, Casey and Jessica; and four great-grandchildren: Damian, Adriaan, Payton, and Logan.
