Ronald Eugene Hall, 77, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 1012 at Mercy House in Johnston. Visitation will be Friday, July 27th from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 3600 75th St. in Urbandale. Celebration of Life services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 28 at Aldersgate Church with burial to follow at McDivitt Cemetery in Urbandale.
Ron was born July 17, 1935 in Norfolk, NE, the son of Wendall and Blanche Hall. He was raised in Omaha where he married Phyllis Nelson (Hall Henderson) in 1957. Ron transferred with Moore Business Forms to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area before moving to Des Moines in 1971. There he ran Hall's Sports Locker and Cycle Center for 17 years.
On October 20, 1984 he married Janet Fink of Urbandale. He became a Realtor with Iowa Realty, and served the last 25 years of his life in ministry within the United Methodist Church as an ordained Pastor.
He served his community as a faithful member of Aldersgate United Methodist church, Urbandale Lions' Club, and Central Iowa Blood Bank providing 35 gallons of blood.
Ron enjoyed his flowers, cooking, fishing, woodworking, coaching hockey, and spending time with all his grandchildren.
Ron will be remembered for his love of his family and his many humorous anecdotes! He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wendall and Blanche Hall, and his sister, Marlene Hall Bregen.
Ron is survived by his wife, Janet Fink Hall; son, Mark (Pam) Hall; daughters, Cindy (Tim) Hamilton, Susie (Brian) Keller, and Karen (Michael) Robu; stepsons, Brian (Denise) Fink, Scott (Doris) Fink, and stepdaughter, Nancy (Kent) Darsee. He is also survived by grandchildren, Justin Hamilton, Jamie (Sam) Elrod, Ryan Stivers, Ben (Shanna) Hamilton, Laura Keller, Garrett Hall, Jenna Darcee, Quentin Hall, Brandon Fink, Ben Fink, Kelli Fink, Cohen Darsee, Ella Darsee, and Tyler Fink.
