Our beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, Eldon John Jutting, passed away during the early morning hours of December 14, 2011. A visitation will be held at the Ankeny First United Methodist Church, 206 Southwest Walnut St., at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 19, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m.

Eldon was born February 24, 1934 to Susan Jutting nee Jurgens and John Henry Jutting in Buffalo Center, Iowa. Eldon graduated from Rake High School and Waldorf College before meeting his future bride, Allaire Joanne Farrow, while attending the Iowa State Teachers College. Eldon taught high school business classes for several years before he embarked on a career in accounting.

A long-time Ankeny resident, Eldon served over fifty years as a member of the Lions Club and he was a devoted member of the Ankeny First United Methodist Church.

Eldon enjoyed a good laugh as well as spending time with his family and friends, tending to his roses, boating, rooting for the Hawkeyes, and watching the wildlife that lived in the woods surrounding his home.

A wonderful grandfather, Eldon is survived by Allaire, his loving wife of over 54 years; his sister, Gweneth Jutting of Mason City, Iowa; his son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Andrea Jutting of Lafayette, Colo.; and his grandsons J.D. and Carson Jutting. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and Chris Loumakis of Fullerton, Calif.; his granddaughter, Lyndsi Loumakis; and grandchildren by marriage, Alysha and Richard Calderon, and Lorika and Joe Archibald. He was a proud great-grandfather of Richard, Siera, and Melina Calderon, as well as Laila and Aubriele Archibald.

Eldon was a good man and we will forever hold him in our hearts.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ankeny First United Methodist Church Foundation, 206 Southwest Walnut St., Ankeny, IA 50023 and the Ankeny Lions Club, 1305 Northwest Maple St., Ankeny, IA 50023.
